My Background

I’m Ian Dalton, a professionally trained piano technician. I studied at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, USA, one of the world’s leading programs for piano technology. After graduating, I worked alongside Fred Mudge at World Class Piano in Boston, gaining experience with everything from concert grands to family uprights.

Moving to Richmond

In 2025, I relocated to Richmond, West London, and launched Dalton Piano Services here. I now provide tuning and maintenance for families, teachers, and musicians across Richmond, Kew, Chiswick, Twickenham, Barnes, and Sheen.

My Approach

Every piano has its own character. My role is to listen carefully, make precise adjustments, and bring out the best possible sound. I balance technical skill with a respect for each instrument’s individuality, whether I’m preparing a concert grand for performance or keeping a family piano in shape for everyday playing.
